Drugs Monitoring Systems

Agenda
General Information   Version Francais

INTRODUCTION
Is it possible to prepare and disseminate appropriate information in the context of the field of Alcohol and other drugs - an area often fraught with contradictory arguments and actions?

What role can information officers and librarians play in improving awareness and practices, on the basis of their knowledge, ethics and technical expertise?
The first question we have to ask ourselves is whether all drugs and dependency information is suitable for dissemination? to whom? and how?

At this conference we will endeavour to demonstrate how information can support work in the various drugs and dependency action fronts: research and observation, carrying out clinical and prevention occupations, devising information strategies on a national and international level.

The difficulty of adapting information to the needs of users from different contexts will be illustrated drawing on a host of resources and experiences : publications, databases, Internet, researchersÂ’ networks, documentation' networks, clinicians' networks...

For 10 years ELISAD has been rallying the main European information centres with the aim of developing co-operation between information officers and librarians in Europe.
