KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE
|
The first step to acquiring knowledge is to know the sources of information
As representative and present chair of ELISAD I am introducing to you some European sources
On this handout you can find some of the most important sites in Europe. From these sites you can gain access to other, national oriented or more specific sites.
Please bear in mind that;
- European AOD policy is not harmonized, but is a matter of the national states
- European AOD statistics are not harmonized, one of the reasons the EMCDDA was founded was to come to comparable statistics, this has not been realised yet, so all epidemiological data should be interpretated with special care
- Not all European countries are members of the European Union (EU)
- In Europe, as everywhere else, there is a hard lobby pro and against both alcohol, drugs and tobacco, reflecting in the information giving on Websites
