Lucia BIANCO (Italy)

Working at the famous italian and international NGO « Gruppo Abele », L.BIANCO is an expert in the information field and in prevention and the cultural sector. She is vice-chair of ELISAD and has organized the 1997 annual meeting at Torino on the theme « Information and Prevention ». The Gruppo Abele covers all aspects of social problems and provide information on various medias (journals, video, booklets, CD-ROM, Internet).

Philippe CHOSSEGROS (France)

Medical practitioner at the public hospital of Lyon. He is a member of the editing committee of the brand new french journal THS (Toxicomany, Hepatitis, Aids). P.CHOSSEGROS has been involved for a long time in the field of drug abuse, in medical practitioners networks and participates to many international conferences and journals.

Baptiste COHEN (France)

Executive director of the National Drug Helpline in France (Drogues info service) & Member of the board of the European Foundation of Telephone Helplines Services on Drugs (FESAT).

Maurizio COLETTI (Italy)

Psychiatrist, M.COLETTI is a well-known researcher in Europe and works at the IEFCOS, Roma. He is involved in many european projects, among them the EC COST-A6 seminar on the research assessment and the activities of the ITACA Association.

 

Patrick DESSEZ (France)

Director of the CNDT (Lyon). Psychologist. He has been working at the hospital Edouard Herriot (Lyon) before being at the CNDT.

 

Elisabeth FELLINGER (France)

Head documentalist of TOXIBASE at the treatment center of Strasbourg since 1989, Elisabeth FELLINGER has a universitary cursus in biochimy and virology (Thesis at the Université Pasteur, Strasbourg). She has been working for 8 years as laboratory research assistant at the CNRS (National Center for the Scientific Research). In the framework of TOXIBASE she manages the current awareness system on german litterature and she is involved in many technical projects (bilingual thesaurus, partnership with the European Council, regional and urban partnership on public health).

Leigh HALLINGBY (USA)

Has set up and managed libraries for the Sex Information and Education Council of the U.S (SIECUS), the National Center for children poverty, the National Center on Addiction and Substances Abuse at Columbia Univesity (CASA), and the Soros Foundation/open Society Institute that includes Lindesmith Center library.

Michel HAUTEFEUILLE (France)

Psychiatrist, he has been Director of the treatment center « Imagine » in the Parisian suburb for many years . He is a member of the editing commitee of the french specialized journals « Interventions » and « Psychotropes ». He is currently head of the training and research department of the Marmottan Medical Center, one of the most well-known french treatment center directed by the Professor Claude OLIEVENSTEIN.

 
 

Marianne VAN DER HEYDEN (The Netherlands)

Chair of ELISAD since 1996, she has been head of the former NIAD Information and Library Services for many years, merged since 1996 with the TRIMBOS Institute. She is now working as a consulant for information services.

Madeleine LAQUEUR (The Netherlands)

Has a long-standing career in information scene and policy. She was involved in the EU-policy activities on information systems and markets of DG13 in Luxembourg. She has worked in dutch central governments and with private companies. Before joining the TRIMBOS institute she worked as a management consultant at Deloitte&Touche. At the TRIMBOS Institute she holds the position of deputy director information management. On behalf of the ministry of health she was secretary of the National drug monitoring group and was responsible for the dutch national report provided to the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Centre on Drug Abuse).

Carlos A. LAMBOY (USA)

He is the encyclopedian source of many of the facts and images in the book Hollywood under the influence. His collection of photographs, shared with G.Marcelle, is famous and includes extensive archives on the life and work of actress like Jean Seberg, Natalie Wood, Marylin Monroe. He has been participating to many books on Hollywood and movie stars: Marylin by moonlight, Star-style/ by Patty Fox, The ultimate Marylin / by Ernest W.Cunningham. He is involved in collaborations with the journal Prevention Pipeline and with the NCADI (National Clearinghouse on Alcohol and Drugs).

Gunnel LARSSON (Sweden)

Head of the Information and Documentation Centre of the CAN (Swedish Council for Information on Alcohol and other Drugs), one of the most ancient and important in Europe. The CAN has played a major rôle in the foundation of ELISAD in 1988.

Mrs Nicole MAESTRACCI (France)

Mrs MAESTRACCI has been President of the MILDT (Mission Interministérielle de Lutte contre la Drogue et les Toxicomanies- depending of the prime minister the MILDT is the intergovermental agency on drugs) since June 1998. Magistrate, Mrs MAESTRACCI has been working previously on drug abuse in the framework of the Minister of Justice. While she has been nominated, the mission of the MILDT has been broadened to the field of licit substances (alcohol, tobacco, misuse of medicaments). One of the main target of the MILDT is also to set up new prevention strategies.

George MARCELLE (USA)

has worked in substance abuse communications for 24 years. He is currently the communication Director of the SAMHSA/CSAP (Center for Substance Abuse Prevention’s Media Relations and Marketing Group). George combines his career focus with a life-long interest in movies and entertainment from his office of Hollywood. He is associate editor of the journal Prevention Pipeline, conference chair of the National Association of Lesbian & Gay Addiction Professionals and chair-elect of SALIS (Substance Abuse Librarians and Information Specialists). He is involved in many actions dealing with the information and the media in Holllywood and at national level.

Séverine MATHIEU (France)

Doctor in sociology and teacher on health and disease sociology at the university of Lille II.

 
Andrea MITCHELL (USA)

Director of the Alcohol Research Group library and executive Director of SALIS (Substrance Abuse Librarians and Information Specialists Association). A. MITCHELL is one of the founders of SALIS (1978). The Alcohol and Research Group is one of a select few national research organizations supported by the US National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). For years, it has been the principal surveyor of alcohol consumption patterns and problems it the US general population. ARG has also been a longtime collaborator in international studies, often under the auspices of the WHO (World Health Organization). Its library is widely considered as an asset of international repute.

Pierre OUDET (France)

Colleague of Nicole PINHAS, P.OUDET is an information specialist in the medical field. In the framework of the DICDOC network he has developped several information services for the researchers, the documentalists and the information specialists.

Professor Philippe-Jean PARQUET (France)

Professor at the law and health university of Lille. Head of the information and drug dependencies treatment centre, Lille. The Professor PARQUET is the author of a national report (1997), on behalf of the MILDT (Intergovernemental delegation on Drugs), on the prevention of addictive behaviours and the consumption of psychoactive substances. He is also Vice-Chair of TOXIBASE.

Nicole PINHAS (France)

In the framework of the DICDOC network, she manages scientific information tools with the various INSERM laboratories (National Institute on Health and Medical Research). She has managed previously the medical databases search service. With DICDOC colleagues and among them the co-speaker Pierre OUDET, she has set up web information services on the mad cow disease for reseachers and documentalists.

Paul-Dominique POMART (France)

Former President of the French National Association of the Information and Documentation Specialists (ADBS), P.D.POMART is currently co-director of the electronic information and publishing system at Bayard-Presse after being head of the documentation ressources. He is also teacher at the university of Paris 8.

Arjan SAS (The Netherlands)

Working in the field of drug abuse since 1991, Arjan SAS is a researcher at the CEDRO (Centre for Drug Research of the University of Amsterdam). He has been working between 1991-1995 with Peter COHEN on a follow-up study of cocaïne use among the population of Amsterdam. This resulted in the publication of two books - ten years of cocaïne use in Amsterdam and several scientific papers and articles. He is now currently working on studies on cannabis, heroin and amphetamines use in The Netherlands. He is specialised in computer data processing and is the webmaster of the CEDRO web site. He is also deeply involved in the Stanton Peele Addiction web site, one of the most popular web site worlwide.

Barbara SEITZ DE MARTINEZ (USA)

President of SALIS (Substance Abuse Librarians and Information Specialists Association). Head of the Indiana Information Resource Center (IRPC, Indiana University, Bloomington). B.SEITZ has been working in prevention since coming to her recent position in1990. She is also the region representative for CSAP’s RADAR network. In recent years, learning to manage library’s portion of the IRPC web site has been a significant and rewarding challenge.

Hana SOVINOVA (Czech republic))

In the framework of the National Institute of Public Health Mrs SOVINOVA is responsible of the set up of the Drug Information Centre. She is also the representative for the PHARE Drug Project Information system (developped by the European Commission for the central and eastern european countries).

Christian SUEUR (France)

Psychiatrist. Practioner at the Médecins du Monde treatment Centre (Paris). Coordinator of the inmates treatment centre at the Fleury-Mérogis jail (Essone). Coordinator of the MDM « rave » mission and of the Centre Parmentier MDM documentation center. Former coordinator of the Saint-Germain-Pierre Nicole documentation Centre, Paris (TOXIBASE network).

Mr Sandro TUCCI (ODCCP)

Born in Italy Mr TUCCI has completed university studies in 1962 and post graduate in the UK in 1964 (Ph.D.). Initially employed in the private sector, moved to far east in 1969. Changed career in mid seventies to become a journalist. Free-lance journalist 1975-79, covering the war in Cambodia. Staff of Time magazine 1979-1990. Joined UN in 1991, first in Jerusalem at UNRWA. Joined UNDCP in 1997, at present spokesman of the Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention (ODCCP).

Alain WALLON (EMCDDA)

French journalist. Founder of the OGD (Geopolitic Drugs Observatory) with Alain LABROUSSE. A.WALLON has been working since 1995 for the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Center on Drugs and Drug Addiction). In the framework of the EMCDDA he has been coordinator of the REITOX network (Réseau Européen d’Information, sur les Toxicomanies, 1996-97). Since 1998 he is involved on a mission on the synthetic drugs.

Marielle ZEEMAN (The Netherlands)

Working as documentalist at the TNO (Nutrition and food Research Institute) M.ZEEMAN is the manager of the documentary database and has developped information on the TNO web site for the library.
